6 Peak District National Park
Britain's first national park, established in 1951, is visited by people from all over the world. They come to find peace, tranquillity and adventure, experiencing some of England’s finest climbing, caving, walking and cycling. The National Park is also home to 38,000 people. The local economy is based on tourism, farming, quarrying and manufacturing.

This year Buxton has been nominated to represent Britain in next year's Europe-wide Entente Florale competition.

Buxton achieved the prestigious accolade after coming third and winning a Silver Gilt medal in the hotly-contested Large Town category of this year's Britain in Bloom.
